Antifriction compound
(TU 6-05-1617-88)
This compound is mixture of polymeric binders and organic solvents filled with 4D and is designated to prepare on metal parts antifriction coatings protecting from atmospheric corrosion, and also for insulation of wires.
The coatings from this compound combine valuable technical properties of fluoropolymers, such as high chemical resistance, weatherability, tropicability and also elasticity, heat and frost resistance, good dielectric properties, antifriction properties, high adhesion to metals, glass reinforced plastics, to a range of plastic, wood, resin, glass and other materials. The antifriction coatings from FBF-74D are used as solid lubricant in hard-to-reach parts and mechanisms at high specific pressure on coating, at increased dust content, when usual lubricants are less efficient, and also on parts operating in ocean water.
Operation temperature of FBF-74D coatings: from -60°Ñ äî +125°Ñ, by short time loading up to 250°Ñ.
Basic properties
| Properties | Values |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Opaque fluid from white up to brownish color. Removed by churning sedimentation is enabled. |
| Mass fraction of dry rest, % | 14,5-16,0 |
| Rated viscosity, s | 14-25 |
| Appearance of coating | Smooth without "runs". After drying should not have net-shaped or cellular pattern visible by a unaided eye, should not come unstuck from a metal surface and crumble. Different shades are enabled. |
Standard deposition method of FBF-74D coatings
- The part should be cleared from of mud and rust, air-sand or shot-peen treated, unoiled by kerosine, and then acetone.
- Methods of deposition: a paintbrush, air gun, casting.
- To dilute and to flush away stains (if necessary) - with ethanol.
- An part put in the drying chamber and hold at temperature 55°Ñ (±5°C) during 60 ± 5 minutes - deposition of the first layer.
- On cooled up to ambient temperature part with first layer of coating is, if necessary, possible the deposition of second layer which one is to depose and to dry as well as first layer (similar, if necessary, the following layers).
- To fix coating and achieve the final physical properties the part is to warm up in the chamber at temperature 155±5°Ñ, not less than one hour, further to chill up to ambient temperature.
- Thickness of a single-layer coating: 10-30 microns depending on a way of deposition. Compound demand at layer thickness100-120 microns: ~ 1 kg/m2.
